About

Violinist Sharon Park and violist Laura Seay have enjoyed international careers as both soloists and chamber musicians and are each prizewinners of major international competitions in their respective fields. Ms. Park and Ms. Seay first met when they were under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman at his summer chamber music intensive course. Both Ms. Park and Ms. Seay studied at the Juilliard School and have played chamber music with each other regularly since 2008 throughout North America and Europe. The compatibility of Lark Duo has been recognized for their flawless technique paired with a passionate approach to every performance. The Lark Duo’s commitment to bringing world-class performances to diverse communities around the world has garnered them international recognition.

In 2012 the Lark Duo toured throughout France performing in concert halls, private salons and school classrooms as the chamber musicians in residence with ProQuartet-France through a national arts grant awarded to musicians particularly adept at audience outreach. In 2008, The Lark Duo toured throughout New York, New Jersey and Virginia performing chamber music as part of Itzhak Perlman’s tour group of young alumni of the Perlman Music Program. Through programs designed to bring the next generation of professional musicians into under served communities, The Lark Duo was engaged for performances throughout the North-Eastern United States and Canada as well as the Western United States.

The Lark Duo has studied chamber music with some of the world’s most renowned chamber musicians and teachers including members of the Guanari, Juilliard, Takacs, Cleveland, Alban Berg, Orion and Emerson Quartets. Equally eager to pass along the great traditions of chamber music performance, Ms. Park and Ms. Seay both sustain private studios and also teach at The Colorado Suzuki Institute and Chamber Music of the Rockies each summer in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
